Frequently asked questions

Clear answers before you install.

TradeChrono is straightforward desktop backtesting software. These answers separate the product from live trading, brokerage, and financial advice.

What does the paid software licence include?

Planned paid software licence: a one-time purchase, not a subscription; a perpetual licence for the entitled version scope, including TradeChrono v1.x updates, for 1 user on up to 2 active personal devices.

Is the 30-day offline allowance a free trial?

After successful online licence verification, a paid licence may operate offline for up to 30 days before another successful entitlement verification is required. This is not the Demo duration or a subscription period. The licence is not deleted when the 30 days ends. Production licensing is not live yet.

What is TradeChrono?

TradeChrono is Windows desktop software for replaying historical Forex markets, placing simulated trades manually, and reviewing the resulting backtest.

Who is TradeChrono for?

It is built for MT5-familiar manual Forex traders testing discretionary or rule-based strategies.

Does TradeChrono place real trades?

No. TradeChrono is a historical backtesting and simulation environment. It does not connect to a live account or execute real-money trades.

Is TradeChrono a broker?

No. TradeChrono does not provide brokerage services, hold customer funds, or operate a currency exchange.

Does TradeChrono provide trading signals?

No. It does not provide signals, copy trading, investment advice, or recommendations.

Do I need MT5 installed?

Final installation prerequisites will be confirmed in the Commercial V1.0 documentation. TradeChrono uses an MT5-familiar workflow but is distributed as its own Windows desktop application.

Can I import historical data?

Yes. TradeChrono includes a historical data import workflow. Supported formats will be listed in the launch documentation.

Does it support tick data?

Real Tick replays imported historical tick data where available; it does not supply an included third-party dataset.

What is M1 Synthetic?

Real Tick replays imported historical tick data where available. M1 Synthetic generates deterministic intrabar replay from M1 OHLC using TradeChrono’s defined synthetic model. Synthetic movement is not a recording of actual ticks, and neither mode promises identical execution across all brokers or MT5 feeds.

Can I save a backtest session?

Yes. Session save, restore, autosave, and recovery are part of the product workflow.

Does it include reports?

Yes. Reports cover results, costs, trade behavior, balance, equity, drawdown, and CSV or offline HTML export.

Is there a Free Demo?

Yes. A Free Demo is planned for Commercial V1.0 so traders can experience the workflow before purchasing. Exact demo limitations will be published before launch.

How many computers can I activate?

Future device management will let a user deactivate or remove an existing device and activate a replacement within the 2-device allowance. No customer device-management portal is live yet.

Is TradeChrono available for macOS?

No. There is currently no macOS release; TradeChrono is a Windows desktop application.

Does TradeChrono guarantee trading performance?

No. Backtesting cannot guarantee future performance. TradeChrono provides tools for testing and analysis, not a promise of financial results.
